It is everybody’s desire to have a strong, firm and healthy body. It is easy to get this type of body, but very hard to maintain. Going to the gym and building muscles may be easy but maintaining those muscles requires more than the gym hours. There are certain exercises though that can help you retain this fitness and maintain that firm body.

1. Small regular walks: If there is any simple exercise that one can ever do is walking. This is because; it is something that we do on an everyday basis. Sometimes you exercise without knowing it, every time you choose to walk instead of drive. Walking strengthens the leg muscles and the anterior thigh muscles. Adding jogging and running to this also gives the posterior thigh muscles more strength.

2. Squats: quatting may not be easy to several people but they are very effective exercises. They strengthen the muscles in the lower part of the body. These include the calf, hamstrings, quadriceps and even the gluteus muscles.

3.Swimming: Many people carry out this activity without knowing that they are exercising. This is because it is a fun activity especially in those boring Sunday afternoons. It adds strength to both the arm and leg muscles as you wade through the water. It is also a great and safe cardiovascular exercise.

4.Riding a bicycle: There are many ways to kill a rat, and many are the ways in which a bicycle helps. Cycling can be used for fun and for exercising. This builds up the calf muscles and the thigh muscles used during pedaling. It also strengthens the arm muscles used while maintaining the balance or going up a hill.

5. Kegel exercises - These are the kind of exercises used to make the pelvic muscles especially for the women. These muscles give great support to several internal body organelles preventing them from protruding. If a woman has passed through severe plastic surgery such as hymenoplasty surgery, kegel exercises can strengthen her vaginal walls. On the other hand, the men who have issues concerning bowel, premature ejaculation or bladder incontinence, these muscles can also play a vital role in rectifying such problems.

6. Sit-ups and pushups: These exercises usually go hand in hand and they usually work on almost the same group of muscles. They strengthen the back, chest, arms and also the shoulders. Having saggy muscles as a man is a turn off for many ladies, so keep them firm for your own advantage and vice versa for the ladies.

7.Cardiovascular system -To ensure that your body's cardiovascular system is strong you have no option, but to try doing aerobic exercises. They are helpful as they will develop your heart muscles and make them firm thus improving your health.
